In this week’s playlist, we feature performances by clarinetist, Anthony McGill, in honor of his upcoming performances with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra on January 19th and 20th. In 2020, he was awarded the Avery Fisher Prize, one of classical music’s most significant awards given in recognition of soloists who represent the highest level of musical excellence.
In this week’s playlist, we feature the Faculty Quartet-in-Residence at Indiana University South Bend, the Euclid Quartet in honor of their newly released album, Breve. This features short quartet works, made possible by the IU Presidential Arts & Humanities Production Grant.
Since 1979, June has been known as Black Music Month. In the classical music world, black artists are so often underrepresented. In this month’s playlist, we’ll be highlighting music by black composers, soloists, conductors, and more. This playlist has selections spanning from the 17th century to today.
