2021 marked the one-year anniversary of Krzysztof Penderecki’s death. As a polish composer and conductor, Penderecki became a leader in the world of contemporary music. One of his first groundbreaking works was his avant-garde piece, Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima. His music often confronted subjects such as social injustice, religion, and politics. Penderecki lived to the long age of 86 and is survived by a son and two daughters. His music will live on forever and we’ll honor his legacy in this playlist.
