LOCAL CLASSICAL – DRUM CORPS INTERNATIONAL

August 8, 2022

Local Classical Featured Playlist – 08/08/22 – 08/21/22

In this week’s playlist, we highlight the wonderful organization that is Drum Corps International with guest curator, Eric Hjellming. He is the Sr. Event Operations Manager at the organization. Drum Corps International brings the life-enriching benefits and enjoyment of marching music performing arts to more people worldwide. They do this by creating a stage for participating organizations to engage in education, competition, entertainment, and the promotion of individual growth.

With this year being DCI’s 50th Anniversary and Finals returning to Lucas Oil Stadium, you really don’t want to miss out on any of this excitement. In this playlist, we’ll hear Eric discuss all the insights of DCI and what to look forward to at this year’s Finals Week event here in Indianapolis, and more. The 2022 DCI World Championships are from August 8th-13th and will mark a week-long celebration of the world’s most elite marching music ensembles. A large number of classical music pieces have been used in DCI shows, and we’ll highlight some of those great works, as well. Make sure to head over to their website to see all their upcoming events and to purchase tickets!
