NEW CLASSICAL – CAROLINE SHAW

New Classical Featured Artist – 10/25/21 – 11/07/21

In this week’s playlist, we are featuring Caroline Shaw. She is the youngest ever winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Music for her composition, Partita for 8 Voices. Shaw is a New York-based vocalist, violinist, composer, and producer who performs in solo and collaborative projects. She performs as a violin soloist, chamber musician, and as a vocalist in the Grammy-winning ensemble Roomful of Teeth. One of Caroline’s recent albums, Orange, won Best Chamber/Small Ensemble Performance at the 62nd Grammy Awards.  Caroline has studied at Rice, Yale, and Princeton, currently teaches at NYU, and is a Creative Associate at the Juilliard School. She has held residencies at Dumbarton Oaks, the Banff Centre, Music on Main, and the Vail Dance Festival.
