This week’s stream features all music written in this century with some brand new releases, including a CMI commission. The commissioned work, “Sharing Sacred Space,” was produced in collaboration with the Newfields Museum, as part of the CMI City Sounds Project. This project features new compositions by ten local composers influenced by 10 different cultural sites in Indianapolis. “Sharing Sacred Space” was written by local composer Ron Funkhouser and was inspired by the Clowes Pavilion, an inner courtyard space at Newfields.
The stream additionally, features a short interview with Funkhouser where he talks more in depth about his piece, its inspiration, and his compositional process. Find a new music favorite by tuning in to the stream this week!
