Local Classical – Amy Porter

January 20, 2020

Featured Artist 1/20/20 – 1/26/20.

Flutist Amy Porter has led a distinguished career as a performer and has been hailed by critics for both her performance and her passion for scholarship. In 2006, Porter became the first performing artist to be awarded the University of Michigan’s Henry Russel Award for distinguished scholarship and teaching ability and she has been featured as a soloist with orchestras around the world. This week, Porter joins the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra for a performance of Michael Daughtery’s Trail of Tears, and we feature some other recordings by Porter this week.

Connect with CMI Streaming’s Local Classical Channel for music performed by Amy Porter, and much more.
