Classical Revolution

C-Rev

First Tuesday Classical Revolution at the Chatterbox

On the first Tuesday of every month, Classical Music Indy is proud to present, in partnership with the Indianapolis chapter of Classical Revolution, a diverse mix of classical music, hosted by the Chatterbox Jazz Club in downtown Indy. “C-Rev”, as the regulars call it, takes classical music out of the concert hall and brings it into a casual, energetic setting. Typical performers include Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra musicians. Music professors from Butler, IUPUI, and University of Indianapolis, plus a host of freelance musicians round out the roster of performers.

On these Tuesdays at the Chatterbox, you’ll find a packed house and laid back vibe reminiscent of Salon Music from the 19th century, a social custom that brought chamber music events into the home setting for the purpose of entertainment and merriment. When you attend Classical Revolution there is no pressure to sit still and be quiet. As is the case at Classical Revolution nationwide (in 29 additional cities), attendees are encouraged to unwind, talk with friends, and cheer for musicians while the music is playing. C-Rev is a modern day classical jam session and we hope you’ll join us! This event is FREE, the music starts at 8pm and goes until 11pm.
