Salvador Perez Lopez

Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, Salvador Perez Lopez was raised in Bremen, Indiana, and began playing clarinet in sixth grade. Perez Lopez graduated from Indiana University South Bend in May of 2018 with a Bachelor of Music with Distinction degree in clarinet performance. During his time in South Bend, he regularly performed with various IU South Bend music ensembles and with the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra.

In May 2020, Perez Lopez graduated from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music with a Master of Music degree in clarinet performance. Recently, Perez Lopez was featured on the album, “American Dreamers: Voices of Hope, Music of Freedom.” This album, led by John Daversa, won three 2019 Grammy awards for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album, Best Arrangement, Instrumental, or A cappella: “Stars and Stripes Forever”, John Daversa, Arranger, and Best Improvised Solo: “Don’t Fence Me In”, John Daversa, Soloist.

Salvador currently serves as the Producer for Classical Music Indy and is also the host for Classical Music Indy’s Streaming service. Outside of music, Salvador loves to spend time with friends and family, play video games, and travel.
