Originally from St. Louis, Rebecca Hackett is a senior pursuing dual degrees in music and physics at the Purdue University Honors College. She studies piano performance with Depauw’s Dr. May Phang and frequently accompanies the Purdue Orchestras. While at school, Rebecca has worked as a music librarian with the Purdue Bands and Orchestras volunteer management teams and continued to give piano lessons to beginners of all ages. In addition, she has a strong interest in musicology and is currently working on an Honors capstone concerning the works of Gustav Mahler. With a background in performance, musicology, education, and librarianship, Rebecca aims to pursue graduate studies in piano performance with an emphasis in musicology, and one day a career researching and performing the music she’s always loved.
